    Little White Dress

I guess by now the cat’s out of the bag, I am a big Hennes & Mauritz fan. In fact, I’m a big fan of everything from Sweden. So its no surprise that when H&M rolled out their Eco-Friendly Brand, the Conscious Collection I would be the first in line to nab a few. Who could resist the collection, its sustainable & adorable at the same time. That white fluff you see on the left is my dog Max One of the reasons why I love Summer is getting to wear Summer whites. So Fresh & So Clean look. This year when I was organizing my shoes, I came across…

    Channel your inner Bohemian Girl

Here I am trying to channel my inner bohemian self with my own flair. My love for maxi dresses has always been hampered by my height. Being a petite Asian girl – its quite a challenge to find one that fits.  Most of the time, I usually end up having it altered. For now I have found the perfect solution, platforms! Thank goodness for platforms, I especially love DANY by Jessica Simpson – the height is just perfect.

MANGO NYC MODEL-STYLIST EVENT with Natalie Suarez

On Thursday, May 12th, I attended the Mango Model-Stylist Event hosted by the beautiful,Miss Natalie Suarez from Natalie Off Duty. I attended alone and made a straight bee-line to say hello to Natalie. She was uber cool, super nice, down-to-earth, gorgeous and chic in her little Mango chiffon dress. I also participated in the styling contest, I just couldn’t help myself. The rules were simply style your own Mango looks within a budget of $150 or  $300, get your hair  and make up done by Sephora and get your picture taken. Natalie was the judge and would choose 3 finalists from each category. All 6 winners each received a Mango gift card of either $500, $250,…

Alexander McQueen’s Retrospective bows at the Met.

While Russia’s Pushkin Museum has the Inspiration Dior exhibit, New York not wanting to be outdone has the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibit. The exhibition features about 100 pieces from McQueen’s London archive and the Paris archives of Givenchy as well from the late Isabella Blow’s wardrobe, which Daphne Guinness bought last year and loaned to the museum. It opens with two looks from McQueen’s spring 2001 “Voss” collection: a dress from ostrich feathers and painted red medical slides and another dripping in razor-clam shells. Alexander McQueen challenged normative conventions of beauty. (Double-click to Enlarge photos) McQueen’s challenge of traditional ideas of beauty is as renown as his mastery of…

    Freaky Friday

Hello everyone. I’m back! Blogger has been buggy the last 24 hours (in case you haven’t noticed) and I haven’t been able to sign in til now. On a happier note, 7 more days til I leave for my island vacation in Belize. I am so excited!!! As you all know, I desperately need some R&R. The past week or so, yours truly has been working extra-hard to compile posts for you guys that should keep you entertained while I am away on my 12 day holiday. Wanted to…

Kick your boring browns and blacks

Kick your boring browns and black to the curb and go bold with rich jewel tone colors. I opted for emerald green. Tell me what you chose, better yet show.  On Sunday May 1st, Styleta hosted a benefit fashion show for charity: WATER.  Created by college students, STYLETA is an up-and-coming nonprofit in the United States that sells donated designer clothing then gives the proceeds to charitable organizations, nation-wide.  Charity: Water is a worldwide non-profit organization that helps bring clean, safe drinking water to people all over the world who otherwise have no access to clean water.  We take for granted drinking water which we can easily find in any grocery aisle,…

    Madewell Fall 2011

Madewell’s casual tomboy charm went in an even more masculine direction for fall. Kin Ying Lee, head of design, said the idea was “Madewell goes to work” with a focus on men’s wear-inspired trousers, blazers and cardigans styled with suspenders and brogues. There was robust outerwear such as a blanket wool poncho and a Penfield jacket, wool cargo pants, sweatshirt knits and shirtdresses anchored in classic navy and burgundy yet with a flash of color — orange or yellow — here and there. As for Madewell’s novelty stock, dip-dyed stripe T-shirts by Le Minor of Montauk and Doc Martens are in the mix for fall. (CLICK on PHOTOS to enlarge).

    Brooklyn Sunday

Hi guys! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. As usual I spent my weekend running around like a crazy mad woman. My weekend started off with a romantic dinner with hubby. We had lobster rolls for dinner (YUMMY in my TUMMY) so naturally, I stuffed my face. Saturday and Sunday was spent with the family grilling cheeseburgers, cleaning, shopping, watching movies, taking photos, cooking some more and driving around NYC. Whew, exhausting. It was one of those weekends where I was feeling a bit adventurous. I dug into my closet and just said what the heck. Lets make it fun and put on my favorite things. I’m not so sure about the end result, its not…
