A day before hurricane Irene hit NYC; I decided to take the day off and enjoy the beautiful weather before the storm. First, Claudia & I headed to Orchard Beach, Robert Moses’ man-made, mile-long “Riviera of New York”. It was both our first visit to Orchard Beach and she didn’t disappoint, with a hexagonal boardwalk; a bandshell for concerts; 26 tennis courts; paddleball, and basketball; and the outlying, heavily wooded Pelham Bay, three times the size of Central Park. We worked out our appetite and 4 hours later and a short 5 minute drive away. We landed at my favorite little getaway, City Island. City Island is a small community at…

NY Fashion Week – Candela RTW Spring 2012
Gabriela Perezutti channeled her Uruguayan ranching roots for her spring 2012 collection. Her casual pieces showed a tropical antiquated vibe. The collection of washed leather and shorts in bright silks, effortless dresses included intricate embroidery and oversize military jackets in washed denim made the looks a little less polished. *Photos Courtesy of Conde Nast Publications*

BCBG Max Azria Spring 2012
*Photos Courtesy of Conde Nast Publications* Max & Lubov Azria did not disappoint with their 2012 spring collection. They integrated current trends like neons & colorblocking – genius, me thinks. The collection screams feminine dress with a touch of sporty outerwear. The dresses have such amazing silhouette, with complicated splicing, cutouts, panels & piping – contrast colors & tribal patterns galore. Does this collection scream “active glamour? What do you think? And check out the FNO shirt he’s sporting 😀

Stuck on You
Jeffrey Campbell Lita Hi everyone! So sorry for the lack of posts. Its that’s time of the year when my asthma returns with a vengeance & kicks my ass. I stayed home during this Labor Day weekend due to being ill. All weekend, I spent either on my bed or on the couch making use of my NETFLIX membership. Its nothing short of amazing when you are ill, really. Here I am wearing my Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s in funky green velvet. These babies have even the guys saying they love them. How cool are they? Hope you lovelies enjoyed your holiday weekend. Can you believe IFB conference is tomorrow?

Mad about Hue
Hey guys! Can you believe its already September, Monday is Labor Day. Fashion Week is around the corner & the IFB conference is less than a week away. Next week is going to be all kinds of awesome, busy, but totally worth it. I took these photos in July, but didn’t really get a chance to post them until now. Its one of those shoots where there are tons of good photos to chose from and you can’t really decide on which one. I bought this maxi dress at Forever 21 for my Belize vacation and haven’t really worn it much since. Shoes are DANY by Jessica Simpson. Accessories by…

Denim Delicious
Top: Thrifted Pants: BDG Ankle Cigarette Mid-Rise Jeans (Urban Outfitters) Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Security in Black Patent Copper Necklace: From Italy, forgot brand. Bag: Vintage GUCCI (thrifted) I’m intrigued by the amount of colorful denim we have at our disposal this season. Completely feeling this look – coming in all kinds of pretty, pastel-y and yummy colors. The key is to have fun with it – be creative & don’t hold back. One hot Summer day I found myself wandering inside Urban Outfitters, minding my own bees wax when these lovelies demanded I take them home. I was so taken by the vivid fun color, fabric & fit, I had…

Cineflix Casting Call @ Lina Fey
Hi everyone! Happy Sunday. The East Coast was battered by Hurricane Irene this weekend, but I’m happy to report that by the time it reached NY it was downgraded to a tropical storm. Aside from flooding, we survived Irene. Things are slowly going back to normal. I leave you guys with pictures from the Cineflix casting call this past Thursday at Lina Fey’s. I went with my blogger friend Amy of Baby Budget Blog. She killed it in her chain mail like outfit, total outfit envy. Good luck girls! Since it was raining I decided to wear my black patent Mary Jane Pumps Total awesome pic of me & Amy,…

Masculine Moment
My love affair with menswear stems from raiding my brother’s & my father’s closet when I was young. Menswear appeals to us ladies, mainly because its seductive & androgynous. Who can blame us, its empowering to be able to wear men’s clothes while still looking like a lady. I have no idea why I held on to this post for so long. These pictures were taken in June, right after my Belize vacation hence I’m very tanned 😉 This look is strong, yet still feminine, with clean and simple lines.
