    City Island, New York

A day before hurricane Irene hit NYC; I decided to take the day off and enjoy the beautiful weather before the storm. First, Claudia & I headed to Orchard Beach, Robert Moses’ man-made, mile-long “Riviera of New York”.  It was both our first visit to Orchard Beach and she didn’t disappoint, with a hexagonal boardwalk; a bandshell for concerts; 26 tennis courts; paddleball, and basketball; and the outlying, heavily wooded Pelham Bay, three times the size of Central Park. We worked out our appetite and 4 hours later and a short 5 minute drive away. We landed at my favorite little getaway, City Island.   City Island is a small community at…

Blogger Lunch @ Charlie Palmer’s Aureole Restaurant

I had lunch yesterday with Sadia & fellow blogger Amy of Plenty for Pennies at Aureole Restaurant in Times Square. We accidentally coordinated – loads of laugh that was. I guess that just means we have great taste. 🙂 As usual, we had a fabulous time talking about life, fashion & shoes. Can’t wait for the next one girls!! Striking a pose outside the restaurant.   I just love Amy’s bag – such a vibrant color.     Amy, Me & Sadia on 42nd Street (this pic is courtesy of Amy).

I wore this dress to the Bob Mackie Event which I attended with Hadas (pics from event coming tomorrow). I spent this weekend lounging at home since it was scorching HOT outside. Caught up on some reading, watched movies – complete couch potato mode with naps in between and some wine. What were you guys up to this weekend? This past Friday, I finally got to meet Amy from Plenty For Pennies. I always adored Amy’s style and look forward to her posts. So, you can only imagine how excited & ecstatic I was to finally meet her in the flesh. We had lunch @ Asia de Cuba and you can check out pics which…

    Girls just wanna have fun

I remember as a little girl I loved wearing lace dresses and to this day, I still do. Its one of those things you never outgrow, its timeless and a fashion must-have for any closet. The past couple of years has been so exciting, as we push the envelope further and further. Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of mix n match and the rules, well we’ve thrown it out the window and were having a lot of fun. Thanks Sadia for my make up! As the weather warms up, I will be able to post more lace looks from my collection over the years. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s posts: Eyewear and Fall Fashion Trends.

    Fresh & Youthful

Reem Acra Spring 2011 Happy Monday to all! I trust everyone had a wonderful weekend. I took this weekend off from blogging and enjoyed unwinding with Sadia sipping mojitos, stuffed my face with nachos, drove all over NYC doing errands, prepared a home cooked Italian meal with my partner in crime, aka hubby, read the current issue of W Mag and squeezed in some time to color my hair.  Now I’m recharged and ready to tackle this week. It has been blistery cold here in New York and I am starting to wonder if Old Man Winter is ever goin away. To kick off the week, let’s start it off with some…
