Ambergris Caye,  Belize,  Mata Rocks

La Isla Bonita

We fell in love with Belize! Ambergris Caye & Caye Caulker were simply beautiful and we will definitely be visiting again. The view from our hotel room balcony was unbelievable and we spent our down time just watching the sunrise and sunset. We came back inspired and changed by such a beautiful place. Since the island was on 25 miles long & 1 mile wide the mode of transportation is golf carts by land & water taxis or sail boats by sea. I was advised to leave my heels in NYC since all you needed was your slippers, bathing suit, sun dress, shorts & tees. It was such a laid back place – what a perfect vacation. The weather cooperated and it was sunny the whole entire time we were there. Sunny and 100+ degrees everyday, but with the trade winds blowing it didn’t feel as hot.

Here are a few pics we took on our 2nd day in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. The town San Pedro  is the inspiration for Madonna’s song La Isla Bonita.

Lunch @ Elsi’s by the sea. We ate shrimp ceviche everyday we were there.

Docks

Here I am happy & relaxed. The white you see far behind me are waves hitting the Belize barrier reef.
The 2nd largest in the world.
